I do not have the words to express how amazing this experience with Lorena was! I am a very anxious person, and the thought of handing over my dress to someone to cut and alter was so scary! But she really made me feel at ease with her kindness and clear expertise in tailoring wedding dresses. She gave valuable input and suggested things I had never considered. When I had concerns about the fit of the dress, she allowed me to come back multiple times to try it on to ease my nerves. She is the owner and sole seamstress/tailor, she works so incredibly hard to take special care of your clothes. I felt so beautiful the day of my wedding all thanks to her! I would recommend to anyone who is getting married, or just for every day tailoring! 10/10 👏🏼

Ardmore Tailor helped me with two bridesmaid dresses and then I came to them for my own wedding dress in 2023! I am writing this review realizing I will be back soon as a bridesmaid again. I had a great experience here and they expertly handled every request on my dress. She removed a layer of petticoat, hemmed every layer of tulle, and added a beautiful french bustle. She even trimmed the illusion neckline a bit for my comfort. I am so grateful for her work and the calm atmosphere of this shop. Thank you!

My experience at Ardmore Tailor and Design was fantastic, I would easily recommend Lorena to any family member, friend or bride. She was kind, collaborative, flexible, and truly cared about making the experience and end-result of my wedding dress one that I was happy with. Honestly, the photos of my dress speak for themselves, but I want to highlight Lorena's meticulousness and skill. We began about 1.5 months before my wedding and we had several trials in between. My dress was an Italian Mikado fabric. She shared good ideas on options for how we can alter my dress and was collaborative. My size changed throughout our alteration period and when we did a trial the week before my wedding, Lorena took my dress back down to fit my current size and made sure it was what I wanted before considering it final. She never left something to "good enough," - my dress was fitted to consider comfort and appearance when dancing, walking and taking photos. She welcomed my Mom and my friend as they came to help me - worked through and taught my friend patiently how to use a uniquely complicated bustle. She cared a whole lot about how my dress turned out and my satisfaction with it - this was very clear to me in how detailed she was and her interactions with me. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Common questions

Before you come in

Do I need an appointment?

No. Walk in during opening hours and we'll look at the garment with you. If you're bringing a wedding dress or several pieces at once, calling ahead on (610) 642-3830 means we can give you the time it needs.

What should I bring to a fitting?

Wear or bring the shoes you'll have on with the garment, and the same undergarments if that affects the fit. Hem length depends entirely on the shoes, so this is the single thing that saves the most back-and-forth.

Do you alter wedding dresses?

Yes — wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and mother-of-the-bride outfits. That includes taking in the bodice, shortening the hem, adding a bustle, and repairing or matching bead work. Bridal alterations usually need more than one fitting, so come in well ahead of the date.

Do you work on men's clothing?

Yes. Suits, jackets, shirts and trousers for men, and clothing for children as well as women. Sleeve length, trouser hems, taking in a jacket, replacing zippers and buttons.

Can you make a garment from scratch?

Yes. We design and sew custom pieces, and we also rework something you already own into a different shape.

Do you make patterns for clothing businesses?

We do. We prepare professional patterns for manufacturing in any size and series you need. Call or send us a note about what you're producing.

Where are you, and is there parking?
